Yesterday marked the opening of the 'Peace Pod' at The Darwin Centre. The Peace Pod is a new multifunctional enhanced support suite – the first of its kind in the UK.

The suite will provide a safe space for patients to manage higher intensity presentations, reduce the length of stay and avoid admissions to PICU (psychiatric intensive care unit)/SEDU (specialist eating disorder unit).

Co-designed by staff and service users, the Peace Pod is a multifunctional enhanced support suite with a calm and inviting atmosphere, the first of its kind in the UK.
We've launched our REACH Awards 2025, and we're delighted to have Dedalus as our main sponsor for this year.

Patients, their loved ones and colleagues enjoyed a performance from the D-Day Darlings, who performed classic songs that inspired joy, dancing, and even a few tears!
