Gotta be Avery Brooks who fought hard to make certain that Captain Sisko embodied the ideals of his ancestors and that none of it was going to be hidden off screen somewhere. Not to mention portrayed one of the greatest TV fathers of all time. Even becoming a surrogate dad for white dweebs like us!
