For the longest time, the agent just sits in silence. Finally, he manages, “That’s a hell of an act. What do you call it?”

And the father says, “The American Historical Association!”

"Joining the right in piling on attacks on the diverse many barely getting by in an economy structured to benefit asset holders in the global north isn’t just a bad strategy for the left. It’s not a left strategy at all."

The Mothership Vortex: An Investigation Into the Firm at the Heart of the Democratic Spam Machine How a single consulting firm extracted $282 million from a network of spam PACs while delivering just $11 million to actual campaigns.

The annoying spam texts destroying the Democratic brand:

$678M raised through those spam tactics

$282M to one consulting firm: Mothership Strategies.

$11M to actual campaigns (1.6%)

The party isn’t just treating donors like marks—it’s being fleeced itself yet continues to back Mothership.

abolish prisons, except for the person who thought it would be fun to put pianos in airports

the claim here: it’s morally unacceptable to vote against corporate democrats in primaries and doing so is equivalent to voting for republicans in general elections. please draw a clock.

don’t think it should be too much to ask that anglophone left wing media profile and work in conversation with the actual german left and treat the wagenknechtoids the way we might treat antiDs

It is profoundly racist to erase these activists and what they built and it was racist to ignore their concerns and it is racist to drop firebombs on hospitals in Gaza.

"identifies as Black," "is Jewish and Latina," "28-year-old Palestinian organizer."

Who's being racist now?

The people quoted in this article as supporting or sympathizing with Uncommitted:

"The son of Yemeni immigrants," "a 31-year-old Palestinian American organizer," "Lebanese American," "Lebanese American," "identifies as mixed race and half Black,"

like did the thing we all watched happen on television happen or did it not? did the democratic party establishment act like this was the most important election of our lifetimes, or did the people in Uncommitted who tried to defund war crimes and win back crucial swing voters?

no this is actually insane: the biden administration aggressively targeted activists or journalists who reported biden wasn’t up to the task of campaigning for a second term, drove his approvals into a ditch, he ate shit on national TV and was forced out and these people are still attacking lefties!

again millions of people *did the thing they were supposed to do* and voted for someone we despise to stop something worse from happening. stop browbeating us for your failed politicians and strategies and please help us try something different next time.

to a whole lot of Muslim voters in the crucial swing state of Michigan, Kamala Harris represented the bombs raining down on hospitals and schools in Gaza. that youre able to ignore that and see her as personified joy says a lot about you! bsky.app/profile/spry...

“uncommitted” was a *primary* election movement in opposition to the biden administration’s funding and arming mass death and mass starvation in gaza. they organized to demonstrate how angry crucial voters were about this issue and were denied concessions or even a meeting. who’s ethically bankrupt?

02.08.2025 20:21 — 👍 24    🔁 1    💬 1    📌 1

the democratic party responded by refusing meetings, refusing a convention slot, refusing concessions, refusing everything; and they lost michigan and the election. please explain who ripped down society and how opposing the funding and arming of mass murder and war crimes is “niche.”

“uncommitted” was a multiracial working class movemebt that did everything liberals say we should do: they organized inside the party, asked people to vote and stay engaged instead of tuning out. double digit percentages of primary voters in a key swing state chose no one over the incumbent.

The question to ask here is: What would a Democratic Miller even want? Stephen Miller has a crystal clear picture of the America he believes should exist in his head. It motivates him. It determines the policies he prioritizes and the strategies he chooses. What would be the Democratic equivalent?

strange disconnect between the content from OPs which is well-considered / thoughtful / concise and the absolute miasma in the replies, which can best be described as Tumblr for 51-year-olds with a little bit of MSNBC Facebook boomers mixed in

this site does actually work for some things and I think the degree to which people actually want to read / engage with stuff is really great in comparison to all the other sites that basically downgrade any shared content to the point that it's invisible. But the replies on big posts can be....well
