Los Arcos: a cluster of seastacks south of Puerto Vallarta; two have tunnels, making them β€œarches”. Hundreds of birds nest on the seastacks (Blue-footed Boobies, Frigates, Great Blue Heron, etc). The first pic of me is late 2024; the pic on the boat from 2022. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; 2024 and 2022

Playa de los Muertos / Beach of the Dead: so named because the bodies of several sailors washed onto the beach after a shipwreck close to shore in the early 1500s. This beach is adjacent to the Romance District in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; the pier was built in 2013; all pics are from 2024.

While in the city of Toluca after our hike on nearby Nevado de Toluca we visited Cosmovitrol arboretum. The plants are interesting but the stained glass murals (from the 1970s-80s) are spectacular. The murals encircle the entire building and run along the ceiling. November 2024

This is the rim of stratovolcano Nevado de Toluca. The hike isn’t long hike but is at high elevation - 14,075 feet / 4290 meter elevation at the spot where we could first see the floor of the crater (there are two lakes in the crater - see my last two posts). Mexico; November 2024
