I wrote this book for the kids who feel alone and for the adults who want to help but aren’t sure how. “How to Be an Anti-Bullying” gives real tools to make a difference now.

I had a great morning working with the amazing staff at Heritage Elementary in Wentzville. The afternoon wasn’t as fun… almost 4 hours on the ice covered highway (for only a 26 mile drive). So glad to have made it home safely. Wishing others safe travels, better yet, stay home if you can.

Some people wear masks only on Halloween. Others wear them every day—to blend in, to hide the pain they carry, to cover the cracks left by trauma, or to silence the thoughts that whisper of not wanting to go on. Be kind. You never know what someone’s mask is hiding.
31.10.2025 12:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Every student learns in a different way—some through movement, some through sound, some through quiet reflection. When we embrace those differences instead of trying to make everyone fit one mold, we don’t just teach better—we help every learner feel seen, valued, and capable of success.
30.10.2025 12:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Curiosity is the spark that turns learning into discovery. When we encourage kids to wonder, question, and explore, we’re not just teaching them facts—we’re teaching them how to think, create, and change the world.
17.10.2025 12:12 — 👍 3 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Connection is the foundation of correction. A student’s behavior is not a reflection of who they are—it’s a message about what they need. When we slow down, listen, and lead with compassion, we give them the safety to heal, learn, and grow.
16.10.2025 12:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Focus on self-care, self-love, and self-compassion first—because you can’t pour from an empty heart, heal from a place of exhaustion, or give what you don’t give yourself. When you nurture your own well-being, you become stronger, kinder, and more present for everyone around you.
11.10.2025 12:20 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0The first and easiest way to make a connection with a student who is struggling is simple—see them. Truly see them. Greet them by name. Notice their effort, not just their behavior. A moment of genuine acknowledgment can open the door to trust long before any lesson ever will.
08.10.2025 12:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Sometimes all it takes to change the entire story of a child’s life is one person—one steady, kind, compassionate adult who sees them, believes in them, and never gives up. One person can be the difference between feeling invisible and knowing they matter.
05.10.2025 15:52 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. For those in education who pour their hearts into others every day, rest isn’t a reward—it’s a requirement. You can’t light the way for your students if your own flame has burned out. Prioritize yourself with the same compassion you give so freely to others.
03.10.2025 14:45 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In our schools, the true measure of success isn’t just grades or test scores—it’s kindness in the hallway, compassion on the playground, effort when things get hard, and integrity when no one is watching. These are the lessons that shape character, build community, and change lives
30.09.2025 12:44 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Little wins with little people are actually big. When we pause to celebrate them, we give a child the confidence to keep trying, the courage to keep going, the belief that they matter—and the reminder that they can do hard things.
16.09.2025 12:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0“Celebrating even the smallest wins with students tells them, ‘You matter. Your effort matters.’ These moments build momentum, strengthen confidence, and help every child see their own potential.”
15.09.2025 12:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0When someone is stuck in panic mode, what they need most isn’t more noise or pressure—it’s calm. Just being quiet, steady, and kind can help them feel safe again. Your calm can help them breathe, slow down, and come back to themselves. Never underestimate the power of your peaceful presence.

A child carries pieces of every educator who believed in them—because we are not just teaching lessons, we are shaping lives.

When a student is on the verge of turning from Bruce Banner into the Hulk, they don’t need a lecture—they need calm, quiet, and a little time to come back down.

I’m blown away — the new Maslow book is now ranked #7,496 on Amazon, which means it’s in the top 0.1% of all books currently selling. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting this journey!

My wish for this school year is simple but powerful: that every student and staff member feels safe, supported, connected, and inspired to grow and learn together.
#maslowbeforebloom
Connection opens the door to cognition.
