I endured Cliveβs long ads. (Who knew they had a leader?) I endured two ad breaks (more f*cking Clive). I even sat through Bronny B.
The punters result: Albo 44, Dutts 35, KG 21.

Corporate lobbyists can cheaply access politicians in private, while peaceful public protestors face harsh penalties.

More gas is currently used to convert gas to LNG than is projected to be a "shortage" in the 2030s.

In Australia, more people work in arts and recreation (254,000) than the mining industry (220,000).
While there is plenty of money to subsidise fuel for mining companies, cultural institutions have suffered from funding scarcities for decades, writes @alicektg.bsky.social in the Canberra Times.

A world on fire
From threatening to annex Greenland to blaming California Democrats for the stateβs deadly wildfires, the Trump circus is back in town β and heβs not even president yet.
While the world is on fire @emmashortis.bsky.social takes us through Trump's interventionist foreign policy - aka attempted empire-building - plus the California wildfire responses and Carter's legacy.

It seems that as long as βclimate actionβ doesnβt include stopping the expansion of gas production/export, reducing fossil fuel subsidies, making the gas industry pay for the gas we give them or introducing a carbon taxβ¦the AFR is supportive of βclimate actionβ. Phew
