Magic. Betrayal. Sacrifice.

I loved this duology so much, and it was just what I needed. It gave a break from heavy spice while keeping all the angst. If you’re looking for a very plot driven gothic fantasy, with a unique magic system - this one’s for you.

It started off good, but there were some repetitive chapters leading up to the action. I’m still wholly invested. I’m glad Diem started to get her ish together, but by then, the book was over.

Side Note: Henri gives me full-body cringe, and I hope he gets decked in the face sometime soon.
