Personally I needed the monster to have had a moment where he acted violently for violence sake rather than just self defence.

I've seen a lot of posts criticising GDT's choices for adapting Frankenstein, but I haven't seen ppl talk Abt how he's not just adapting Mary Shelly's novel. He made a love letter to ALL of Frankenstein's history, literary and cinematic.
He never set out to adapt just the original work.
