I think she legit blocked all of us who have Tourette's that tried to point out what she was saying was wrong.
Also...did you notice the "former special education teacher" in her bio? She knew what she was doing.
Anyone else with Tourette's get blocked by the "former special education teacher" for pointing out her incorrect and harmful takes?
Also her use of "bad behavior" is concerning. I wonder how many kids she fucked up by punishing them for existing with a disability... π€
The more some of you "allies" lie about Tourette's and other disabilities, the worse it makes things for Black people with disabilities.

He literally reached out directly to Michael B Jordan, Delroy Lindo, and Hannah Beachler to apologize. There's an entire article on it.
You're incorrect about your assessment on Tourette's, it's controllability, and now you're just saying wrong things and adding to the noise.
The fact that Warner Brothers was like "hey, you should remove that" and BAFTA & BBC were like, "we'll think about it. In the meantime, free Palestine has to go."
Then they lied and told everyone " oh we didn't hear it. We didn't realize what happened."
It makes it impossible for me to listen to the "read aloud" button on my digital textbooks. The voice and cadence sound so incredibly unnatural and it makes me want to rip my ears off.

Reality includes acknowledging that any policy you create that negatively impacts people with disabilities will be borne the hardest by Black people with disabilities and will be applied in the most punitive and least compassionate way possible.
Your responses are now explicitly ableist
I think everyone deserves to be there.

Having been robbed of several in the past because I have disabilities, I'm against people with disabilities not being able to celebrate their achievements because of things related to their condition.

...in a situation where the utterances are involuntary and not representative of a person's actual thoughts and moral compass.
Are you making the person accountable for the harm that was caused and responsible for helping repair that harm? Or are you punishing the disability? Those are different.
First question, yes.
Second question, no. Tourette's isn't like some sort of truth serum. It's not an "internal thought." It's an intrusive thought.
Should the person apologize? Yes. Should they be held "accountable"? You're going to have to hash out what accountability looks like...
The biggest shitbags of this entire thing are BAFTA and BBC who decided that they absolutely had to censor "free Palestine" from being heard, but then allowed the n-word to get broadcast to the world and didn't even bother to reach out directly to Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo in the aftermath
24.02.2026 06:54 β π 25 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0Stop talking over people with disabilities, especially people with Tourette's and doubly people specifically who experience coprolalia. Also stop promoting the idea that people with Tourette's (hi. I have Tourette's) should be locked away and have no public life.
24.02.2026 06:54 β π 12 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Stop talking over Black community members who are responding to a term which is inseparable from violence which has plagued that community for hundreds of years and has largely gone unchanged.

People are entirely too comfortable in their racism. Similarly, people are also entirely too comfortable in their ableism. It's causing needed conversations to get fucked up by people who, largely, aren't going to be impacted by the discourse.
Cut that shit out.
Love discussions on Tourette's being driven by people who...have no idea what they're talking about.
Racism is bad. Racial slurs are harmful, even if they are involuntary or unintentional. Having a disability doesn't change that harm. When we harm people, we apologize and seek to repair the harm.
With coprolalia, the vocalizations aren't random. They're contextual surrounding words that are socially inappropriate, offensive, and taboo. The stronger the term, the stronger the compulsion.
Does it make the term less harmful to people hearing it? No. Does its use signify intent? Also no
...it should at the very least be followed with a "hey, I'm really sorry about that. I didn't mean that and I'm sorry for hurting you."
The worst offenders in this incident, IMO, are BBC and BAFTA. Especially after they censored someone saying "free Palestine" but allowed a slur to go unedited. Wtf
"Does it excuse him"
Excuse is a bad word to use here, especially without an extra large asterisk.
I have Tourette's. I generally don't apologize for the few times I tic in public (if anyone even notices). That said, if your tics carry this much weight behind them in the harm department...
