Because I got a new espresso machine, I can use the naked portafilter I bought on AliExpress. I haven't used the one that comes with the machine yet. I might have to try it at some point, but espresso enthusiasts have a strong dislike for those vacuum-seal portafilters.

I won't be angry if she doesn't, I just think it would be nice. I don't think the community should be pitting talents against each other and taking sides to get one or the other fired or something.

Jelly Hoshiumi is going to make a short statement at the start of a stream in a couple of days. I don't have any expectations, but it'll be something related to the apology. Still, it would be nice if she said something supportive of Clara, considering the level of hate from some of her supporters.

I think I've been quite fortunate in this regard. The Vtubers I've been interested in, I didn't get attached to the point where I couldn't move on to their next character. Pikamee had already announced the graduation when I started watching Vtubers, so it was easy to get used to Henya.

With Independent Vtubers, they usually say that they are going on "indefinite hiatus," and then you keep your eyes on which company they've joined.

With the bigger company Vtubers, there is usually an assumption that they will continue on as an indie, but it's not always obvious.

I've found Vtuber "graduations" to be various levels of depressing, depending on who it is and how much information you have. There is always this cloud of depression, anxiety, and anticipation as you wait to see if there is hope on the other side. If they will turn up in a different form.

The anouncement of Kaminari Clara's graduation has been incredibly depressing. It feels like the people commenting on it most are haters who are declaring victory. I haven't noticed any of her collegues say much if anything about it. There are no streams planned for her final month either.

The whole thing lasted hours, but they found maybe 30 seconds of footage that wasn't chaos and constantly pointed to that and claimed it was "just tourists" who were "let in", so it's fine. If it were peaceful as they claim, they wouldn't have rushed Congress into the safest place they could find.

I saw Kamala's post on Jan 6 on Facebook just now, just thinking about it. It's both astonishing and maybe a little impressive that the right spent the next 4 years working to convince Americans that what happened wasn't a big deal, to the point where it didn't impact voters' decisions in 2024.

It has been an interesting start to the year. I hoped to make more progress on my screenplay last year, but I've hit another wall at 15 pages. I've had some thoughts about the ending, but I'm not sure it's big enough.

I went through and deleted all the notifications related to the post because I don't want anything to drag me back into it.

I mean, if you tell someone you are no longer interested in continuing with the conversation, and suspect they are engaging in bad faith. They try to continue the discussion in a way that isn't trying to de-escalate; it seems a bit of a red flag to me.

Internet conversations can become incredibly frusrating, and it annoys me that I can let myself get so frustrated by them. You are having a conversation with someone who seems to be reasonable but the longer it continues the more stubborn they seem and never seem to really read what you write.

I have listened to the Real Love 2025 Remix a few times now, I wasn't that impressed the first time I listened to it on headphones but it sounds a lot better on speakers.

Placed my order for the Eyes Wide Shut Criterion 4k. Should come a week or so into December aparently.

Due to the fact that I've become a shut in and a lot of the sites that I used to frequent aren't as active as they used to be, I've become borderline close to becoming a redditor as I have started commenting on the site and regularly check my notifications.

Saw Planes, Trains and Automobiles today on 35mm film. The print had the sort of dirt etc you might expect but it was a pretty clean print. It also left me wondering why they felt the need to use so much DNR for the 4k release.

When we return in the end, not only is he much happier, but he also owns his own business and works for himself. George isn't bullying him but encouraging him to be a better person, and there is a hint of respect between the two.

Both he and George have the same relationship; he may have the upper hand in terms of power, but he is entirely reliant on George to make it in the world. He can't even write his own reports, much like in High school, he couldn't do his own homework. He doesn't seem very happy either.

When I was watching Back to the Future in the theater today, I couldn't help but think that, actually, Biff gets a good ending in this movie. At the start of the movie, he's a terrible guy who, although he may have a higher position at a company than George he hasn't really moved on from high school

They'll need to invest in biofuels to make that happen sooner rather than later. I don't know if electric aircraft are in a place to start replacing existing jet powered aircraft, particularly for longer flights.

I think the current generation of consoles are in a good place for the next couple of years at least, they shouldn't try and put out a PS6 unless it can deliver at least 1080p native pathtracing at 60fps.

I bought a sound effects record. It would be interesting to digitize it and see what it could bring to some future projects in terms of sound. I haven't listened to it, but when it arrives in the mail, it'll be interesting.

Casino Royale is a bit of an odd film, you would think that Bond being a fresh new 00 agent would have his own account to do basic reaserch with but here he is trying to flex on the entire devision or something by blatanlty using M's account knowing that they know exactly who is using it.

I'm watching the 4k of Casino Royale from an AppleTV purchase and I get the feeling from the titles that this movie was just upscaled from a 2k master rather than rescaned at 4k.

It's more that the game encourages you to finish new game+ and then rewards you for playing a 3rd time. The story is incredibly ambigious but I suppose it hits you over the head with it's themes hard enough the first time to understand what's going on. The 2nd time sort of confirms the themes.

After getting 3 of the endings of Silent Hill F It's felt like a rewarding experience even though I didn't go through the 3rd playthrough as urgently as the 2nd playthrough. A lot of the discourse is that you have to complete the game 5 times to understand it but I don't think that's accurate.

I wonder if a lot of the people who didn't like Silent Hill F because of the combat system were playing on the harder combat difficulty. I played on the recommended difficulty, and while it was frustrating at times, I could learn it enough that it became more acceptable.

If the iPhone Air had USB-3 and could record in ProRes, I'd be looking at an Air instead of a Pro. The Pro isn't a bad-looking phone, but the Air looks a lot better.
