A new Pensacola based listener group with Political Mayrix News poll shows that Elijah Manley has a small lead over Rep. Cherfilus. 38% of voters picked Mankey, 35% picked Cherfilus and 10% picked Holness. 13% of voters remained undecided. Without Cherfilus in the ballot, 45% would pick Manley, 33% Holness while 22% would remain undecided. Only 22% of voters believe that Cherfilus should remain in office due to her scandals and ongoing ethics investigation.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel editorial board is calling on Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick to resign, saying the controversy around her office has become too serious. The most serious charge is that she tapped into overpayments of more than $5.7 million from Florida to her company, Trinity Health Care Services, during her 2021 special election race. According to FEC filings her progressive challenger Elijah Manley is leading with a significant fundraising haul.

I oppose the Southland rock mine project, a proposed 8,600 acres limestone mine that Big Sugar wants to put in the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA).

I urge the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and SFWMD to reject this poisonous proposal.

So Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormickis suing her 26 year old primary opponent Elijah Manley for defamation.

Just so people know, it’s nearly impossible for a politician to win a case against someone for defaming them, especially someone running against them.
