That's our plan. I'd live with these 5 foot reptiles any day. It's the 6 foot humans that are more disturbing. They think they can hid behind their camo jackets and beards, but their red hats give them away.

Here's one. He wears scary looking rattlesnake pajamas and wiggles his tail, but he's harmless to people. They help by eating mice and little things. This guy was probably at least 5 feet long. Seen a few around the yard.

Ha! They need to know that means 'sanctuary' yard. ALL animals are safe here. Even the 5 foot long Fox snakes (I've dodged them when mowing the lawn too). Sadly, we haven't seen deer out here, I think they know about the neighbors.

Yep. 50% of them drive pickup trucks past the house, single finger wave, and toss beer cans in the yard. The neighbors all play with guns and the 14 year old kid has even been in our yard shooting squirrels with a rifle. No Trespassing signs went up.

I hardly want to talk to anyone these days. I'm in the US and I enjoy good HF propagation since I don't even want to talk to our neighbors. 😕

I rarely use SSB. I tried tuning my 7300 but found I didn't get any power out in that mode. I've got it configured for digital and CW that SSB needs a tweak! I'd rather talk to your contacts than anyone here in the US anyway.

My discone kinda sucks for gain, but covers a wide range of frequencies. I have done the SSTV events from the ISS on 2m , but the last event didn't work well. Maybe related to the radio up there that died recently?

I've got a Pi set up to try to get some SSTV from RS38S. That seems to be the popular one this week. It's on the 437 mhz which sometimes isn't real good with my discone, but I'll see what happens.

Most of the tracking stuff I play with on one screen. Made a little HTML file that loads them all in the browser. Just need to add the GOES satellite stuff.

First signal with the new antenna. Looking really good so far. Lower noise and signal well above the noise level. Seen it at 2.5 degrees above the horizon.

Simple and small antenna (403 mhz) that I'll use for the 403.21 mhz balloon out of Green Bay every day. I built a 2m version many years ago and worked well.

This morning's balloon and graph. Notice how tall the smaller spike needs to reach before it crosses the line (that's where it has to be to decode data). The tall spike is some noise or maybe the Raspberry Pi? Not sure. Compare this with the next image.

With the new J-pole hung in garage. Noise looks a lot flatter and much less needed to cross the line. I'll see how it goes with the next balloon launch - or maybe it will pick up another one east or west of us? We'll see! Gain should be much better than the old discone antenna.

I think they do the same thing as on FB. The quality gets messed up and sometimes colors too. Probably best to have a direct external link to photos to show the best of them.

The online cheaters in games. I loved Sea of Thieves and COD, but once I got sunk at the dock and "spawn....die...repeat" in COD, it just wasn't fun.

Thanks. The situation here with the club has been very damaging to my love of the hobby. I haven't had any scope out since the "incident" that started last year. I learned I can be fooled even by astronomers and my trust in people has been severely damaged. Midwest "nice" is total BS. 😢

I was spoiled with the club 17 inch Planewave….until political leanings ended that and I left the club. Long story, but another reason we are moving out of here next spring.

Yes, that would make it easier. I ran all that on a Raspberry Pi 4 and remote wifi to the house. Worked nicely! Then moved and didn’t rebuild the observatory but sold it to a guy in Colorado.

Mark flew/commanded the shuttle, not just ride in back (nothing against mission specialists though!). Orange Dick-Tater nearly fell on his ass trying to get in a garbage truck.

I did a few buddy pass flights until it nearly became like this. $30 to anywhere Frontier flew (thanks Eric!). The good old days of having friends in "high" places.
