#QAA had a great ep (323) feat. @annieknk.bsky.social and Katherine Denkinson. It’s paywalled so I’ll spoil why JVM’s comment reminded me of it: casually monetizing hate bec its effective for the monetizer.

check out the ep or an article about the topic

Agreed, it's the people saying "I used to like the Greens, they were nice, not like now" okay but you weren't voting for them? Why should they be the party you want them to be when you're still not going to vote for them when they are?

Interesting, for me it was def getting to know trans people. I was in radfem online circles when younger and although I was never interested in anti-trans stuff I wasn't entirely unsympathetic, but meeting real people irl made it clear to me just how completely distorted the TERF view of them was

I don't think the people saying this are climate deniers though, that's a pretty fringe position!

Not sure if this is unique to the UK political class but there's a funny attitude about progressives which seems to run along the lines of "I hold them in complete contempt and will never attempt to help them, but also they should fix the issues I care about for me"

I find "I see the Greens don't talk about climate change anymore..." critiques so odd. Were they right for caring about climate change, in which case why weren't you campaigning for them - or were they wrong, in which case why do you care?

Maybe? Tbh it all feels like a bit of a protection racket to me. Lib Kristi Noem could easily become a bitch Karen HR type in their minds. It's why I liked that the article included how once Kaschuta started stepping out of line they started calling her ugly when she's the blond conventional ideal.

Also reading the whole piece is oddly reassuring to me that I researched the tradwife world pretty thoroughly for Truly Tradly Deeply, bc it's insanely obvious to me who "Anna" is

Yeah they were telling all sorts of lies about her that have stuck. Still see people insisting that she lived in a different state and drove over there to cause trouble, despite that really stretching the bounds of plausibility

In the hours and days after it was revealed that Jonathan Ross had killed Renee Good in the streets of Minneapolis - and called her a "fucking bitch" press secretary Karoline Leavitt called Good a "lunatic woman." "This is the rogue momma bear instinct," tweeted a popular MAGA influencer.

"Leftist liberal white women were poisoned with guilt and the family order was destroyed. They're lost now and acting out." In a press conference a few days after the killing, J.D. Vance implied that if Good had been more dedicated to her children, she wouldn't be dead: "What young mother shows up and decides they're gonna throw their car in front of ICE officers who are enforcing legitimate law?"

In other words, she was being a fucking bitch.

Whoops, messed up the screenshot. Was meant to start with this part

Great article. I particularly liked(?) this part, about the way manosphere talking points were used to justify the shooting of Renée Good at the very highest levels of the US gov. Reactions that say "duh, the right was always misogynist!" while not untrue, miss the point. This is escalating

I Watched 6 Hours of DOGE Bro Testimony. Here's What They Had to Say For Themselves The hours of videos provide fascinating, or perhaps horrifying, insight into the thinking of someone inside DOGE.

I have watched 6 hours of a DOGE bro deposition. The whole thing, start to finish. It's a fascinating, and horrifying, look at the people who caused so much damage, didn't really achieve anything at all, while still being so sure they are right. Here's what they said: www.404media.co/i-watched-6-...

This whole episode, about the fractures in MAGAworld over Iran, and how they relate to existing faultlines around Israel, antisemitism, and liberal interventionism was really great.

The wonderful world of the British political-media ecosystem, where you can hold entire events about trends you've made up and which experts - who are crucially not invited - have debunked multiple times.

How the Epstein Files Reveal the Final Failure of QAnon This story is part of TPM Cafe, TPM’s home for opinion and...

NEW: For @talkingpointsmemo.com, I wrote about how the idea that QAnon "was right" because of the Epstein Files reveals a lack of basic understanding about the Q movement. Q was never just about trafficking, it was a plan to save the world.

This is unambiguously genocidal rhetoric: framing people from different cultures living peacefully as an existential threat justifies and incentivises extermination. It is genuinely terrifying how normalised Great Replacement Theory is becoming in our political culture.

Maybe they relied on AI to pick targets. But they bombed the school twice, hitting it again 40 minutes after the initial strike, in order to kill survivors and first responders. The mere *existence* of AI means no one has to be held responsible for this crime against humanity

That one annoyed me bc it applies to us all! We're all on social media, reacting to current events. That's what it's for!

Good point. It's also interesting how many questions are centred around dating, usually a younger man's complaint. For balance there should be more questions targeting a married misogynist!
