this is exactly why I write about coal miners and sex workers and incarcerated workers and oilfield workers. someone has to show some fucking humanity for stigmatized workers who are suffering just as much—if not more—than everyone else.

some of these replies are really cruel and I’d really like people to sit with why their first reaction to hearing about a poisoned, precarious workforce trying to improve their lot is “lol idiots good luck”
