Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

The centrists in the Senate Democratic caucus saw that the country was rallying to the party in the 2025 elections and resolved that they would do anything they could to kill that momentum.

I am amazed by the people who don't think this is going to further radicalize the left. Talk about not reading the room at all.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. But then they'll have Republicans on record voting against the subsidies when it fails, which is somehow different than...the past few weeks of Republicans voting down the subsidies when it would've reopened the government and avoided all this suffering and political blowback. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s actually made me furious at them, they messed with people’s lives for 40 some days for nothing.

I've come to the conclusion they got the one thing they *actually* wanted--lots of people voted for them last Tuesday in the hope that they were an opposition party. Unfortunately that's not currently the case.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.
