I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

It's now clear to even the most gullible that "softened tone" & "pivot" were regime propaganda. Is there a mea culpa from the collaborators in media who disseminated this?
NYTimes led the field w/a breakdown of how/why the "tone softened".
At what point is it appropriate to use the term "vichy"?

Judge chastises Trump administration attorney in hearing over dismantled Presidentβs House exhibits
The city wants the judge to order that no more exhibits be removed and that the already-removed exhibits be protected as the litigation continues.
The Inq's @abgutman.bsky.social @fallonroth.bsky.social were at today's argument in the City of Philadelphia's efforts to restore truthful signage about George Washington and slavery at the President's House site. No ruling yet, but Judge Rufe (GWB nom) did not seem pleased with the WH's arguments.

Two iconic U.S. newsrooms slash reporting and stress opinion writing even as Minnesota proves the need for factual journalism.

CBS News and Washington Post choose worst possible moment to lay off reporters, stress punditry - right as the streets of Minneapolis are showing how journalism can beat back government lies
