This week, Alaa Abdel Fattah will miss his son’s 14th birthday.

I asked the Minister to elaborate on the government's plans to ensure that Alaa is able to return from Egypt to be with his son for Christmas.

Budget Day is here: an important moment for households and businesses nationwide. Us Libs Dems are calling for the abolition of the Family Farm Tax & introduction of a British Farmers Rescue Plan. Agricultural businesses are the backbone of rural communities - supporting local farmers is essential.

Two red buses, one marked 'The lie' which displays the Vote Leave claim that the EU cost Β£350M a week that would instead be used on the NHS.

Another marked 'The truth' which shows that Brexit has cost the UK Β£1.7bn per week in 2025.

Earlier today, I joined school leaders - including Lynn Wood, Principal of Europa School in Culham - at 10 Downing Street to deliver a letter urging the Prime Minister to reinstate funding for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The government must reverse this regressive decision.

An investigation into Russian interference in our politics is long overdue. And we all know who should be questioned first.

Ukraine is on the brink of an historic betrayal by Trump to Putin.

Keir Starmer must bring our European allies together to back Zelensky, starting by seizing frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

Β£7,780 for an annual season ticket from Didcot to the London Travelcard area doesn't represent value for money for my constituents.

Yesterday, I challenged the Secretary of State on this. It's time for affordable rail fares. πŸš„

Today is Carers Rights Day. Across the country people are caring for each other and dealing with tough times.

This isn't just Ed’s story. It's the story of millions, and that's who the Liberal Democrats will continue to fight for.

A trans flag coloured heart with the words transgender day of remembrance, placed on a dark background with a pink blur

Today on Trans Day of Remembrance we remember those who have lost their lives to transphobic violence, and reflect on how we as a society can end this loss of life.

Liberal Democrats will always stand up for the rights of everyone in the LGBT+ community.

Yesterday, I spoke to ITV about the Government’s mixed messages on special educational needs provision, which is doing nothing to fix a system that is already failing families.

The Government must provide SEND families with the certainty and clarity they've been waiting for.

A consistent source of frustration for constituents is the fact that health, transport and leisure facilities simply are not keeping up with rapid housing growth.

Last week, I challenged the Secretary of State for Transport on this. Our communities deserve more than just houses.

This is Keir Starmer’s moment to stand up for Britain and call on Trump to drop his ludicrous lawsuit against the BBC.

The Prime Minister has spent months cosying up to Trump. If he can’t stop him from attacking one of our most precious institutions, what was it all for?

After many discussions with the Minister for Sport, Tourism, Civil Society and Youth, Stephanie Peacock has confirmed the Government’s commitment to funding local sporting facilities.

Access to sport and leisure spaces is vital for communities nationwide, and must be supported and funded.

Many constituents added their names to the e-petition asking the Government to ensure statutory maternity and paternity pay matches the National Living Wage.

Last week in Parliament, I spoke up for higher statutory payments, as the current levels don’t give new parents the support they need.

With cycling being my main mode of transport across the constituency and beyond, I know first-hand the dangers of headlight glare.

The Government must update its road safety strategy to include vehicle lighting. It’s time to make our roads safer for everyone.

am horrified by the dreadful attack on passengers aboard the train near Huntingdon. My thoughts are with all those affected β€” the victims who we are all praying will pull through, their loved ones and everyone who witnessed such a shocking event.

At a moment of such fear and chaos, we also saw extraordinary bravery. The stories of passengers who stepped forward to protect others embody the very best of Britain, a country where ordinary people stand together in the face of danger, look out for one another, and refuse to be cowed by violence.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to those individuals, to the emergency services who responded so swiftly, and to all those now caring for the injured. As the investigation continues, we must ensure justice is done and that every effort is made to keep the public safe.
