Working on some level design today.

I feel old,
sitting on the train,
not swiping my phone.

So in Arc Raiders there is a door glitch. You don't need to know what it is, just that the gamers are brainstorming all the "easy" ways to "fix" the doors and it's simultaneously hilarious and horrifying. My two favorite solutions are "add a kill volume" and "put a second door behind the door".

First time trying out a color palette.

As we all know the game industry is going through very turbulent times, unfortunately this has also affected several members of our collective. The silver lining is that one of the largest rooms in our coworking space in Berlin will be available from September 1st.

It's been a long road working on this one- so exciting to finally get it in people's hands!

Got an e-mail from some fresh indie devs, asking what it would cost to make a game like Death Trash, and I am inclined to answer: TEN YEARS OF YOUR LIFE AND THE LAST SHRED OF YOUR SANITY!

It irritates me more than it should that there is a book, opened on a random page, with two title pages next to each other.

Got a technical bug report via e-mail, with nice words, description and screenshot.
Investigated the issue.
Wrote a reply listing what the person could try in this case.

E-mail could not be delivered. "This mailbox is disabled."

This job can be frustrating sometimes.

As game dev I often wonder if my intuition about the Steam market matches reality. So I did a small game to test it: Guess how many reviews a random game has. You can now play it too on steamle.com

I don't have an exact date. We have most of the Early Access phase behind us now and can focus on the remaining content updates, but don't know how long that will take.

Plus I can honestly say that I love this game.

Found some decade old design notes and really shaking my head over some of the ideas that my current self knows are dead-ends, or unrealistic, or just weak or stupid.

Wonder how understanding and benevolent my future self will be about my current output.

Was going through some old feedback items today and rediscovered this favorite of mine.

I am. I think I have become pretty good at doing this marathon thing and still enjoy the process itself.
