When we say our coffee has always been roasted by hand, this part of the process is often forgotten. 📸 by Josh Henry.

#Vita30 #TBT rolling in! In our early days on the hill, we used to unload all our green coffee bags by hand. There was no forklift, just one 100-lb bag at a time (and up to 300 bags). Up to four hours of hard work before the roasting process even began.

Ka-Pow signs is responsible for the reflective paint and the white pin striping that was color matched to the gussets of our 12 oz bags.

Ballard Sheet Metal helped Vita fabricate the front plate (with buttons), so the machine could fit on the body panel, as well as a rack and cover for the new electric box under the machine.

The machine, originally an FB70, was built in Ballard and was one of the few remaining four-groups that had a fiberglass body made in the USA. Our service team completely swapped everything (aside from the frame) to transition it to a Linea PB.

Our Caffe Vita service team has spent the last year building a special, one of a kind, four-group La Marzocco to be used by our educator team when training new baristas.
