Their first appearance was a victory behind Grover Alexander.
However they didn't win another postseason game for 62 years.

Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber have captured the rare "Split Triple Crown", where teammates combine to lead a league in AVG, HR, and RBIs.
They're only the 2nd set of teammates to accomplish it in the last 55 years.

Mea culpa -- the above list entirely misses the active streaks, and two of them are longer than the Phillies' drought:
Athletics 73
Guardians 71
By the way the only active franchises without a batting title are the two expansion teams of 1998, the Rays and Diamondbacks
-- both are now at 28 years and counting...
Not to pile on the Mets, but one last look back at their season:
Their games vs. .500, peaking on June 12th, game 69 (along with the '24 and '25 Phils):

When Richie Ashburn won the NL batting title in 1958, it was the #Phillies' 8th -- tied for the 5th most titles by a team in MLB history at that point.
The 66-year gap to Trea Turner's title this year is by far the longest any team has ever had between titles:

For the seventh time in 125 seasons, the Phillies will finish with one of the two best records in baseball . . .
It is the 18th time a Philadelphia team has done so --

Last night's 1-0 game was the #Phillies' 1,000th win at Citizens Bank Park.
Since CBP opened in 2004, the Phillies are only the 5th MLB team to win 1,000 games at home.
And they're only the 3rd team with 1,000 wins at one park.

That tied the franchise record for most solo HRs in a game.

4) Last night was the 243rd MLB game this year where a team scored 11 or more runs.
At only 2 hours and 17 minutes long, it was the shortest of those 243 games.
3) They scored 11 runs, and all 11 were by a homerun.
The #Phillies' previous record for most runs with all coming via a homerun was 8, done several times.

2) They hit 4 HRs in the 7th inning -- was only the 3rd time in franchise history that they had hit 4 or more in a single inning:
- June 2, 1949: 5 in the 8th
- Aug 17, 1985: 4 in the 7th
- Sep 24, 2025: 4 in the 7th

5 stats from the #Phillies' wild 8-HR game -- a thread:
1) Edmundo Sosa became the first Phils shortstop to hit 3 HRs in one game.
16 shortstops had hit 2 in a game a total of 36 times, starting with Charlie Bastian in 1885, and led by J-Roll.
