A five panel comic strip. In the first, there’s a photograph of the artist as a baby in a pink mesh bag. In the second is a slow drip in brown, rust, and red. Next to that are rows of dots mimicking Estrogen. In the third is a photograph of the artist crying. In the fourth is a photo of the artist’s chest after top surgery and the prescription for Testosterone. In the fifth is the artist, masculinized. Overlaid is an excerpt from Ayin's piece.

Please note CWs

A work of fiction for your Tuesday! "Smother (v.): stifle, suppress, suffocate" by Ayin Ships asks what happens when your identity issues take on a life of their own? Could that life be yours? Would you want it to be? Nice 69!

Maybe eventually I'll make real promo posts for my pre-Bsky-account publications as well but for now I'll just say my work can be found in Roi Faineant, Active Muse, and The B'K! Check them out, they have good stuff.

Promo image from the b'k (bitchin' kitsch) for Dead Names by Ayin Ships. Text reads: CW: References to the Holocaust, death of a family member, assimilation, implied transphobia/unintentional misgendering.
The ghosts are quiet—most people ignore them—but numerous.
Every minyan has a dedicated Mourner for the Kaddish. It takes time, going through Ploni ben Ploni and Plonit bat Ploni each time, but no one complains. Well, everyone kvetches, no one means it.
Read the full piece in The B'K Vol 16, Issue 1.

New short story just dropped! Find my writing in the latest issue of @thebkmagazine.bsky.social <3
