A seminal recording in electronic and new age music by Jean-Michel Jarre, 1978's Γquinox is a soundscape of unending magic and pleasure.
Give it a whirl, won't you?

More than you know! I did my spanish-american war essay/quarter paper on the fellows in the link below for my 100-level history class in college. My right-wing instructor was not pleased, and the harsh B- still stings a bit. Viva Los Son Patricos!

The first image is batching for my recent gf talk, other image is from years ago better showing the cut in question for batching - you can 'reassemble the half grapefruit' in a juice king or other bar pro press, the 1/8 bits go in the orange hand press pictured.
09.03.2025 16:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For a la minute, I cut into a quarter, then cut off that core, then again in half for 2 1/8 pieces, then use an orange hand press. Each 1/8 is about 3/4oz. If batching, I stop at the quartet, then press 2 quarters in a juice king, strain, and into cold storage.
09.03.2025 16:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Much more noticeable in bitter citrus such as some pomelo, 'sour' oranges, grapefruit, and lime: lemons less and 'sweet' oranges negligible; Your milage may vary according to personal taste.
09.03.2025 02:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The central core is the 'umbilical cord' of the fruit and in bitter citrus contains most of the unpalatable material (such as naringin also in the pith) and does not contribute to any flavors which are in the juice sacs. Removing gives easy access to sacs avoiding flavorless bitter.

09.03.2025 02:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you do not already, please cut/remove the central column and press rather than ream the citrus!

I took this picture 5 years ago today, it popped up in my cloudapp 'memories'. I have been talking about it as of late for my grapefruit seminar and mixology class. I created it in 2011 after realizing that my own creative taste was in "flavors of strong contrast," here examplified in "Tenebrism."
08.03.2025 19:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I grew up in 70s Orange County suburbs: No one told me my culture was 'commercial' culture or that it would soon be destroyed to make way for the next commercial fad. Tiki and tropicalia was my culture. This is my meaning to saying "I was born Tiki." We do not own our culture; Our culture owns us.

I love going over the citrus family tree in my seminars: My favorite bit that surprised people is that the basic lime you purchase in your local market is actually a lemon/lime hybrid!
