In a primary, absolutely. I voted for Bernie in the primary and Biden in the general. And Biden did more for the Trans community than any President before or after him.

I didn't say vote for a transphobe in the primary. The opposite.

Seriously? The alternative is what? Not voting? That's a copout. Voting for an independent? That's childish. Voting for a GOP nominee? Might as well shoot yourself in the head. Act like a grown up and accept the world isn't perfect and do the best you can with the cards you have.

Not voting for him in a primary is a noble and principaled act; not voting for him in the general is a rejection of the dominant views of the Democrat majority and in effect a vote for the GOP nominee. It's a pointless and selfish act. And it's what the GOP hopes for.

I love the new Superman movie is making a bunch of people go "OH! I get Superman now!" and realizing at his best he is aspirational, and a force for hope. It's not about the punching and powers. It's about the choices, and the ability to stand behind them even when it's hard to.

One reason I left comics in the '90s was the lack of pension and health care, which writing for TV under the WGA Guild/Studios contract provided. (Back then anyway.) It's a shitty situation. Remember that when you buy comics from the majors. Also remember Hero Initiative (www.heroinitiative.org)

I learned in my 30s that books speak to a different part of me as I get older. "Lord of the Rings" was a different book when I read it again in my 30s than when I reread it in my 20s, let alone when I first read it in my teens. I'm sure it will be a very different book when read it again in my 70s.
