WHAT IS PROP 50? California's Proposition 50 is a 2025 ballot measure responding to Donald Trump's attempts to rig the 2026 midterm election through mid-cycle redistricting in red states like Texas. If passed, Prop 50 would allow California to implement a temporary, legislature-drawn congressional map for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections, replacing the independent commission's map - the new maps would implement boundaries designed to give Democrats an electoral advantage offsetting the partisan maps drawn in Texas and other red states.

HOW TO VOTE YES All active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot automatically. Ballots can be filled out and mailed back (postmarked no later than November 4), returned to any official drop box or voting location by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, or voters may vote in person at their polling place. To participate, voters must be registered by October 20, 2025. Those who miss the deadline can still register and vote at any voting location using same-day registration.
