1. Dawn's Respite in the Rising Stones. Various Scions are in comas, their souls taken by the Crystal Exarch. We're zoomed in on Juksie Emdi, lying flat on her back. Sitting next to her bed is Sasanori, the old Dunesfolk man who's been a Warrior of Light twice in his life, and has now fallen asleep watching his comrade's body. CAPTION: The Rising Stones, far too early in the morning... 2. Sasanori groggily turns his head as a voice wakes him up. Apollo: Hey, old man. Wake up. Sasanori: --Eh?

3. Apollo - younger, blonde, and not as scarred as present day - stands at the foot of the bed, looking at Sasanori concerningly. Apollo: C'mon, Sasanori. Your daughter's been calling after you. You don't go home to her soon and she's gonna start punching through the walls, and then Tataru's gonna kill us both. 4. Sasanori turns away, looking somewhat defeated and sorrowful. Sasanori: Sorry, kid, I just... Must've dozed off. Sasanori: It's been a bit of a long day. Jijimu's right, I should be headed home. She and Cocobi have got to be worried about me.

5. The two look down at Juksie's lifeless body as they talk. Apollo: You've been spending a lot of time here lately. Guessin' I already know the answer, but... Everything alright? 6. Apollo looks down at Sasanori with concern as he just keeps staring at Juksie with a sorrowful gaze. Sasanori: It's... It's Juksie. It don't feel right, leaving her to her lonesome in this cold, dark room. Not after everything we've been through. Not after everything she's been through.

7. Sasanori looks back up at Apollo, looking as though he's barely holding back tears. Apollo: Never took you for being the protective type, Sasanori. 'Specially not for a woman like Juksie. Sasanori: Yeah. "A woman like her." Kid, I can tell you right now, you've not known Juksie Emdi as long or as well as I have. Sasanori: You know her as the Indigo Storm. The dark knight of the Brume. A horror story Imperial officers and Temple Knights tell each other 'round the campfire to spook the sproutlings. 8. He looks away again, rubbing his shoulder as a new expression - anger - forms across his face. Sasanori: For me... She's another soul I thought lost. Another person I couldn't save. Another person who fought and bled and died while I got to go home. Sasanori: Story of my godsdamned life, I swear. Find someone willing to lay down their life alongside me, they lose everything they care about and get dragged down to Thal's realm kicking and screaming. Sasanori: Meanwhile I get to walk away, barely a fuckin' scratch on me. I get to go home, I get to see my family hale and hearty, I get to keep on going like nothing's happened.

The duality of lizard

Kaminari (l) and Cyndra (r) sit and lean against a great tree. They are seperated by a campfire in the foreground. They look away from each other after a heated argument.

Both their tempers cooled, Cyndra now leans against Kami as the two talk.

Finally facing each other, the two confess their feelings. Kami places a hand on Cyndra's right cheek, speaking solemn words with closed eyes, while Cyndra holds on to his hand with a relieved and joyful smile close to tears.

A shot resembling the first. This time, both Kami and Cyndra are on the same side of the campfire, sharing their first kiss.

Summary of "To World's Edge" A story set in early Shadowbringers, five years prior to the arrival of the Warrior of Light. After tumbling through the rift, Thancred and Kalha awaken in another world. Disorienting though this predicament may be, they decide to make the most of their unique situation, and embark upon a journey through what remains of Norvrandt - a journey which sees them evolve from strangers, simple colleagues, to proper friends. During their travels, they pick up the century-old trail of the Oracle of Light, and embark on a quest to find the truth of the legends surrounding Minfilia's presence in this world - a quest which will test their new relationship.

To World's Edge (early Shadowbringers - no warnings)

It takes the form of "typical" chapters, with various journal entries in between; a new style for me, as I wanted to experiment a little ahead of another project :)

I too have often wondered what else once existed in the vast territory which comprised the Empire - and what may now exist again there. This is an exciting proposition with plenty of neat details, so well done. Good read :D

The spell subsides. In the bottom left corner, Alphinaud can be seen running towards Kalha to check on her. Apparently unphased, Estinien grunts, and states, "Would've been useful earlier." Y'shtola glares at him disapprovingly, her arms crossed.

Estinien looks back at Y'shtola as she reprimands him. Y'shtola: "You might try being grateful, for a change."

Alphinaud checks on Kalha. Alphinaud: "Are you alright!?" Kalha, panting: "I- I will be. We should get going."

Alphinaud begins operating the allagan terminal to teleport away from the Gamma Quadrant and into the Delta Quadrant. Estinien stands away, waiting. Kalha watches Alphinaud interact with the terminal. Y'shtola stares at Kalha, still impressed with her earlier display of power. Y'shtola (in her thoughts): "Casting such a spell with so little preparation, and without a proper conduit besides... And still, her strength is not quite exhausted. No ordinary mage indeed..."

The Skies Descend (3/3)

With the enemy forces depleted for the moment, our heroes are free from the VIth Imperial Legion's clutches, and free to regroup with the Warrior of Light. The experience leaves Y'shtola perplexed by Kalha's abilities...

As asked, Alphinaud, Y'shtola and Estinien stand behind Kalha, but remain on their guard. Kalha conjures an arcane scepter seemingly out of thin air, and begins casting a spell of devastating proportions.

Y'shtola observes as Kalha prepares her spell, impressed and a little frightened by the sheer amount of aether involved in the magick.

In the face of the oncoming enemies, Kalha slams down her scepter on the ground before her, her body now enveloped in a mix of blue and purple light, reflecting off of Estinien's crimson armor. Y'shtola and him watch as Kalha's spell reaches its breaking point.

Kalha outstretches her arms and unleashes the magick. The skies turn red, and from among the clouds a meteor comes crashing down, obliterating all in its path. The ground shakes fiercely as the collision occurs.

The Skies Descend (2/3)

Title.

Alphinaud, Kalha, Estinien and Y'shtola fend off imperial soldiers, aided by Alphinaud's faithful Carbuncle. A soldier lies dead in front of Alphinaud, while another is falling to their knees, struck by Estinien's lance and Alphinaud's spell.

Alphinaud: "This isn't over. Look! More are coming!" Alphinaud looks to the side, and alerts his comrades to the arrival of another wave of enemies. On guard, Kalha and Y'shtola turn to the direction he looks in.

A magitek vanguard, two magitek bits, and four imperial soldiers barrel down towards the group. All four stand ready to confront them, with Estinien and Alphinaud at the front, and Y'shtola and Kalha at the back. Y'shtola: "And there will be more. We may outlast this wave and the next with healing magicks, but we must find a way to break the cycle before our strength is spent!"

Alphinaud turns his head to the side to hear what Kalha has to say. Kalha: "Allow me to stem the tide, then. Stand back!"

The Skies Descend (1/3)

While the Warrior of Light heads to the heart of Azys Lla to confront the Archbishop, Estinien, Alphinaud, Y'shtola and Kalha are left to face wave after wave of Regula van Hydrus' VIth Imperial Legion.

Sometimes it's fine, sometimes the angle you have in mind means texture too close to the camera and it's such a shame :(
