The Leopards Eating Faces party is SHOCKED when the leopards start eating peoples’ faces.

β€œSymbolic act of defiance” pretty much encapsulates the Democratic Party right now.

Unfortunately the only way this info can break through the media noise is if he holds a sign atop a burning Waymo.

Peter David is an unfortunately unsung architect of Marvel as we know it today. His influence on the MCU, from characters to dialogue to tone, is incalculable. Since his death I’ve been waiting for the apps to do a tribute, highlight his greatest runs… nothing.

The decisive test of our society in my lifetime was the 2024 election and our failure was spectacular and total. I will never again have any faith in the American electorate to do the obviously right thing.

The idea that expressing disappointment in the Obama admin is racist or somehow promoting white supremacy is an example of why us on the left can’t string together electoral wins despite the popularity of our individual policies.

18.03.2025 17:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

wtf. Are you for real? No one can criticize Obama’s policies or how he governed? If it makes you feel better I have criticisms of Biden, and far more of Clinton. This is ludicrous.

18.03.2025 17:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

How would you explain the number of Obama-Trump voters? Just one example. I don’t discount the effect of racism in the turn towards Trump, but how am I wrong in saying Obama was a disappointment? Give me an example.

18.03.2025 15:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Right. My dissatisfaction with the Obama presidency is purely race related. I can’t possibly appreciate his accomplishment being the first black POTUS only a generation removed from the civil rights era AND think he was a disappointment in the office. Grow up. πŸ™„

Is he better than Trump? Sure. But he was easily the most disappointing President of my 39 years.

What campaign promises did Obama fulfill? He started healthcare negotiations at Romney Care. Bailed out the banks and gave a pittance to everyone else. Didn’t close Guantanamo. Didn’t withdraw from Afghanistan. His policies and forfeit of the Bully Pulpit helped facilitate the rise of Trump.

How about the Obama running in 2008 being the one who actually governed?

15.03.2025 14:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Obama is a big reason we’re in this mess. He ran as an FDR style progressive, offering change from post Reagan politics. Instead, he governed as another Clinton Dem - barely to the left on domestic issues, virtually identical on everything else. That betrayal helped pave the way for Trump.

I wish Pelosi put half the energy she used getting rid of Bernie on getting rid of Schumer.

So important. PAD’s influence on pop culture is incalculable. Without him there is Joss Whedon dialogue, the MCU looks radically different, I can go on. I hope the Big Two do something to help, if they haven’t already.

Those who rolled over for the Nazis were just as much a part of the regime.

Exactly. Democrats keep trying to win every battle. Republicans are trying to win the war.

I’ve always held my nose and voted Dem, even if my candidate from the primary didn’t make it. House, Senate, POTUS. I understand that some progress is better than no progress.

This isn’t that. This is compliance. This is cowardice.

Dems have lost my vote.

Sorry, to clarify. That part I understand. I was responding to the fact that every Dem senator, including the ones I voted for in CA, voted for the bastard who did this (Rubio).

Sometimes I think I won't bother voting after last year. Our country is designed for a two party system (the constitution says a single candidate must win the majority of the EC or it goes to the House), and if these Dems are the opposition party, wtf is the point?

I loved it! β€œI don’t screw them either.” 🀣 An established voice with your first outta the gate. Wow. The weary noir tone. The horror. The humor. The underlying pathos. Well done.

Don’t even joke, dude. What would follow would be everything we’re seeing on steroids. The Republicans would be emboldened, and the few voting independents would align with them out of sympathy - the centrist Dems, scared to polarize, would throw in. Trump is a symptom, not the cause.

In the 1890s they thought tariffs would fix it, but they made it worse. In the 1930s, tariffs were partially responsible. I think we’re looking at a 1930s repeat.
