s1 is pretty good, but god rereading the book is just like And It Could Be Sooooo Much Better. a thousand little details that make the characters and the world so much wider and understandable

-the oppressive end-of-summer heat in king's landing (ned mentions it 24/7 and keeps changing his shirt LOL) and the crowds from the tourney lending themselves to how suffocating ned's situation feels
-stannis having accompanied jon arryn during his investigations!!!! now it makes sense why he fled

i rewatched s1 of GOT and i'm now halfway through my reread of the book. list of things i wish the show had kept:

-jon snow being funny, and sympathetic at all.
-the scene where robb sits by bran and tries to comfort him but ends up crying in the dark himself while bran gives comfort.

genuinely what is the point of it without porn. sue them for everything they have
