There are benefits to using your device as long as it still works: 1) your wallet and 2) the environment.

Then please donate it to an organization that will refurbish it, wipe it clean and donate it to somebody in need. This is called circular economy. Tech bros don't want you to do this.

Have Your Say: What Are Your Recycling Preferences When It Comes to Used Electronics? (Survey) Hi everyone, I’m launching an important survey, and I’d love for you to be part of it. As many of you know, through Earthly Bros I’ve been working with the Electronics Recycling Association (ERA) f…

I will be contacting local politicians in Canada to try to get them involved in the electronics reuse & recycling program that I am involved on. Will you respond to my survey to help me build a case?

Quantity e-waste collected
2024 - 110
2025 - 217
2024 + 2025 - 327
Goal 2024 + 2025 - 350

My brother, Sam, and I make a great team. We have almost doubled the number of electronic waste that I collected on my own last year. Only 3 more to go!

Also, we are very close to surpassing the milestone of 350 items collected since the very beginning! We have until August 31st. β™»οΈπŸ’»πŸ

Sales aid: "Donate your used electronics"

Grateful to Mayor West for inviting my brother Sam and me to his 2nd Sustainability Series event this past week. It was a pleasure to attend and share our passion for responsible electronics recycling. Here's Sam with Mayor West, showcasing our homemade sales aid.

"The regulation in particular introduces a mandatory target for recycled plastics and opens the possibility to set future targets for recycled steel, aluminium, and critical raw materials," the council said.

Here are the results for a few more of the globalization survey questions. I know it's hard to see some of the data in the countries of the participants. I am still new with this app so I haven't figured out how to expand that yet but I think you get the idea.

Wordcloud with response to the following question: "How would you describe 'globalization'? Total sample size was 133

Thank you everybody who responded to my survey. I have to finish my report today but here is the wordcloud that I was able to make from all your responses about what the word "globalization" means to you.

Thank you, Councillor Scott Thompson, for inviting Sam and I (Alex) to collect used electronics for recycling at your free public skating event yesterday. It was a lot of fun. We met a lot of people who are keen to keep electronics out of our landfill. earthlyalex.wordpress.com/2025/04/28/a...

Hi, sorry I haven't checked Bluesky for a while. Since you are in the US, you cannot ship for free. I'm so sorry. If you have 20 or more electronics to donate, then we could send a truck to pick up at your location, but not many people have that many. If you do, let me know.

That's exactly our mission! We collect old electronics and donate them to a company that wipes them clean, refurbishes and then donates to a Canadian in need. If it cannot be refurbished, then they recycle it instead.

Waste hierarchy, from top to bottom: refuse and reduce; share, reuse, repair; recycle; recover; landfill. Icons represent each tier. The best tier at the top is refuse and reduce. The middle tier, "recycle", is highlighted as it's Global Recycling Day.

It's #GlobalRecyclingDay! Recycling keeps valuable materials in use so we don't have to extract more from our precious environment. While it's important to practice the higher tiers of this list first, it's still important to remember to recycle what you can. πŸ’‘

Hi Cheryl, we are teen brothers promoting electronics recycling in Canada. Could you help us get our message out for Global Recycling Day? Our volunteer work helps declutter, protect the environment, and gives refurbished technology to Canadians in need. Everybody wins. πŸπŸ’»β™»οΈπŸ˜Š
