In November, 1943 my mother had just escaped a Nazi roundup and refuge in Sweden. As I recount in my #GraphicNovel #HourOfNeed, she got to go see her first American movie, Yankee Doodle Dandee. Thank you to all who have served and made America synonomous with freedom. #MemorialDay
During the Night of Long Knives, #Hitler purged Germany's top generals and replaced them with loyalists, which cemented his control. Did we just have our #NightOfLongKnives? This is a reminder why the lessons of the Holocaust and history which I confront in #HourOfNeed remain important today.
