We probably didn’t need another #NES palette, but here we go again! It replicates the colors of a stock NES on my favorite JVC consumer CRT. Months of fine-tuning went into matching CVBS when shown over YPbPr on the same set. It should be good.

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead.
I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.

This is literally the fist game I've played on my NES, rented it the day my parents bought the console.
I'm probably super biased because of it, but having played the arcade game afterwards, I've always found the NES port to be pretty solid.

Absolutely. Also, I think that because game dev is closely tied to technology, knee jerk reaction is to think that older design choices are now antiquated or that game devs of an earlier era didn't really know what they were doing.
