Brits cheesed off as Trump gives EU a better dairy deal Cheesemakers exporting to the U.S. are sweating after the EU secured a better agreement on at least one front.

Half of pharmacists say Brexit is the biggest issue for UK drugs supply Pharmacists rate Brexit as the biggest issue when it comes to UK medicines supply issues, in a survey of The Pharmacist readers.

Of course Brexit is hitting UK drug supply. And it will get worse because the EU - a more important market-is working together to secure its own supply, in what in the end is a competition for scarce resources.

These figures are the proportion of the whole electorate, including don't-knows/don't-care/don't-vote.

So, if you compare like with like:

2016: 37% of the electorate voted to leave, 34% to remain

2025: 34% (down 3%) want to stay out, 52% (up 18%) rejoin

=> Voters: 64.2% Rejoin, 35.8% stay out.

To talk about trade in Britain without mentioning the EU is a bit like trying to explain the solar system without mentioning the sun.

Today’s reset deal for our relationship with Europe is the start of something good.

Don’t let them drag us backwards again.

'The reset with the EU must be ambitious if we are to meet our economic, security and other objectives' - LabourList If the opinion polls show that public opinion continues its gradual but relentless shift in favour of rejoining the EU, then surely smaller steps, at least, should be easier.

πŸ‘ Lab shd take a lead doing the right thing in a zillion areas of potential - mundane and non-glamorous- renewal of cooperation with our nearest and dearest neighbours. Obviously as @richardcorbett.bsky.social says we can’t renege on manifesto but there’ll be background noise from Reform anyway

Trump's tariffs would damage UK - and EU - with or without Brexit. The 10% v 20% is irrelevant compared to a) damage to UK from leaving the EU single market b) damage to both EU and UK from the global recession Trump could provoke.

If you have time/patience, I always think it’s best to engage. Supporters of Wilders (?), Brexit, Trump etc believe untrue statements. We’re to blame as we’ve failed to engage. They just see us travelling from capital city to capital city & believe govts aren’t trying to help them. I’ve failed too!!

Under the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, guaranteed by US, UK, France and Russia, Ukraine gave up world’s third largest nuclear arsenal in return for security guarantees for its territorial integrity. Why shd Ukraine now β€˜thank’ US (or anyone else?) - esp when it’s sacrificed so many of its people

With global threats rising, and the Tories gone, isn’t it time to revive post-Brexit plans for EU-UK security and intelligence cooperation? The Political Declaration was signed by Boris Johnson but never implemented. Read @richardcorbett.bsky.social in Labour4Europe

Brilliant- thanks for sharing Jane of the North. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ These accents were β€˜Brits of the North’. I’m a Brit in London and really enjoyed it. I lived mostly in various northern English towns till I was 35 (I sometimes find accents from Southern States a bit tough to understand if I am honest)

Andy Burnham was right to say on #BBCLauraK that EU free movement was not a problem.
It was conditional on finding a job or proving self-sufficiency.
Most EU citizens in Britain returned home after a few years.
It was a reciprocal right with many Brits staying in other EU countries.
