I did wonder about that part, but ultimately with character limits and given the context, I hoped it was clear that I was addressing the type of person who was outraged that their child might be affected by religious guidance meant for others.

In any meaningful sense, the daily mail is lying. Intentionally.
We need meaningful regulation ... but would be abused by any given government

We have a real problem in this country with how the press portrays and writes about Muslims.
This story is just another example of that.
It will be no surprise if you follow my work that the Telegraph and Daily Mail are two of the worst offenders🙄

These guidelines also cover food, clothing, jewellery, religious symbols, fasting, festivals, RE teaching, sex and health education too.
But these topics feature all the other religions too, and not just Muslims...
So they don't make the headlines.
And GB News don't lose their 💩 over them

Essex guidelines again:
Not having physical contact between the sexes isn't just a Muslim thing. It's an orthodox-Jewish thing too.
Different religions have different rules.
And asking schools to be aware and sensitive to that should NOT be newsworthy, particularly not in a negative way
Finally, Dance and Drama
Again, just be aware of the cultural sensitivities of asking a child to play a part that compromises their faith or asking for physical contact between the sexes.
