It’s so handy - and in the bad weather when I’m at the office I’ll go for a circuit underground just to get some steps in 😂

I’m still waiting for a Toronto movie or tv show to feature a chase scene in the PATH (and maybe some of those “mole people” we were promised 😂)

The people underground: Meet the groups taking over the PATH for card games and walking tours Groups are using the 30-kilometre network for mindfulness walks and social meetups, fulfilling a 1960s vision of a civic space downtown.

NEW! For the Toronto Star, I wander into the PATH and see how people (including myself) are using it for social and recreational purposes.

regretting I wasn’t better at physics and wasn’t able to get this job: “conducted dropping experiments on a pair of live cats, from about three feet up. “To prevent injury, we placed a thick, soft cushion at the landing site,” Dr. Higurashi said. “One of our undergraduate students did the dropping.”

Not surprised to learn cats can rotate their spines by 360 degrees based on my own observational research

Screen shot from NYT article: The researchers found that the feline spine was extremely flexible in the upper thoracic vertebrae, but stiffer and heavier in the lower lumbar vertebrae. The discovery matches video evidence showing the cats first turn their front legs, and then their lower legs. The results suggest the cat quickly spins its flexible upper torso to face the ground, allowing it to see so that it can correctly twist the rest of its body to match.

“The thoracic spine of the cat can rotate like our neck,” Dr. Higurashi said.

Experiments on the spine show the upper vertebrae can twist an astounding 360 degrees, he says, which helps cats make these correcting movements with ease.

This is fascinating (also love that one of scientist quoted is described as a “physicist and cat-falling expert “ ) gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/03/11/s...

All this. I don’t care if some people find flying out of downtown easier. We need to stop letting these people run Toronto like it’s the place people have to be when they’re not at the cottage. We live here, we like it. Park not planes, @liberalca.bsky.social @mark-carney.bsky.social

I often share my experiences as a recovering gambling addict with people bc I think it's important to acknowledge that gambling addiction is real. It is important to never assume that it can't happen to you, I hope it doesn't, but I didn't think it would happen to me either.

Gave up all of the currency and promise of the “idea” of America (however flawed), in exchange for “we kill people. We kill lots of people.”
