It just occurred to me that being poly might be why I get so many match-unmatching.

To clarify, this book promotes fascist, mysogynistic and transphobic ideas.

I replied to a post mentioning a different book, which was widely discredited and designed to stoke fear of trans people.

Literally in the link you posted: "ROGD (the focus of this book) is not recognized as a medical diagnosis by any major professional institution nor is it backed by credible scientific evidence.[1]"

Utterly devastated to hear my country's supreme court ruling to exclude trans women from the legal category of women. I guess we're some third gender now because no one but bigots are seriously going to treat us like men.

There are ways, like exercise, good sleep, healthy food, but perhaps the most realisic fix is to perform thought-action defusion. Your feelings do not need to dictate your actions. You can pretend you actually are motivated, and funnily enough, the motivation will often come.

Yes, getting a feel for proportion is the first skill you should learn. You could stick to basic primitives then sculpt them, or you could go for a more layered approach, but knowing how to get everything looking right in relation to everything else is how you go from zero art skill to level one 😊

Learn how to block out the forms of what you see. Lines are just the outline of a form. As you work on the forms, focus on proportion and only when you're happy with the accuracy of the forms should you go in and fill them with detail.

Start broad, and get progressively detailed layer by layer.

What are your favourite game design questions?

Here's one: When struggling between two valid features, ask yourself what you're trying to achieve with them, and then explore the consequences of adopting each. Often, one feature will have disastrous effects on your intended experience.
