Finally, thank you to all of the Weiss lab graduate students and other Vandy grad students who helped me over the years! Special thanks to Dr. George Xu for starting this sequencing journey years ago and to Dr. Fei Ye and Dr. Sheau-Chiann Chen for all of their help with stats!

Thanks to Dr. Eric Huang at University of Washington for helping us build a robust thyroid cancer cohort and to our collaborators at MD Anderson Dr. Jennifer Want and Dr. Chia-Chin Wu for collaborating to look at stromal gene signatures in their clinical sequencing cohorts.

Thanks to Dr. Ryan Belcher for pushing us to include pediatric thyroid cancer in our spatial analysis and helping to generate pediatric spatial transcriptomic data. All of the surgeons at Vanderbilt have been invaluable for building a thyroid cancer sequencing cohort.

I also had invaluable computational support from Dr. Quanhu "Tiger" Sheng and Dr. Hua-Chang Chen. Thank you both for continuing to work on this project!

Additional thanks to Dr. Ken Lau for his insights and guidance working with spatial transcriptomics/single-cell sequencing data. Coming in with almost no computational experience, having Dr. Lau on my thesis committee was incredibly helpful for me and @vivianweiss.bsky.social.

Thanks to @ltkagohara.bsky.social and Dr. Liz Jaffee for helping us pilot initial visium spatial transcriptomics runs and guiding us through computational analysis of spatial transcriptomics data. This project may never have gotten off the ground without their help and insight.
