Check on your CDC friends this morning- termination notices are coming in. Confirmed RIFs in Injury, Reproductive Health, HIV prevention, NIOSH, Human Resources, and others.
Update: the original RIF included Commissioned Corps (USPHS) employees. Shortly before rollout, DOGE realized this huge mistake. The delay in RIF notices is because they are removing USPHS from the list(s).

To be clear, this is not a criticism of a shutdown. A shutdown is necessary at this point in order to combat this administration’s power. There are just additional considerations given the RIF timing.
Phase 1 of agency RIF plans are due to OPM today, yet mum is the word. FEMA leadership has been completely silent on the matter. Employees have no idea if or when their positions may be eliminates.
And if there’s a shutdown, will that allow DOGE & OPM to implement RIFs completely unchecked?

In some cases, entire sections of doctrine will be eliminated in order to comply.

There’s not a reliable source for that data yet outside of self-reporting. It’s not like the agencies themselves, OPM, or DOGE are publishing numbers. Some of the AltGov accounts have estimates for their agencies.
