Even if the backlash is loud, people eventually get used to it, so they just keep slacking off. 7.0 got slammed so hard at launch, and they barely touched the models. The story keeps getting worse until they’re forced to apologize. And what the hell is the point of an apology? Just fire Yoshida

I think improving things is good in itself—after all, there really are people who don’t mind the model update. But the core issue is that SE doesn’t care about FFXIV or the players’ feelings and feedback.
