These guys just showed up outside my window. They hung out and cleanser their feathers one for about 4 hours the other only an hour. Springtime is really magical from dawn to dusk the change is so dramatic. Soon they will be hidden by all the growth when they visit.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has halted the awarding of previously approved proposals to ensure compliance with presidential directives following the arrival of DOGE at the science funding agency.

The White House cites an NPR feature that states "banana slugs are hermaphrodites" as a reason to cease public funding of the network.

But banana slugs literally are hermaphrodites! Like that is just a scientific fact!

As I have repeatedly clarified, it’s vital to understand that this is money the Administration owes to contractors for work ALREADY completed. The idea that four Supreme Court justices STILL thought it was ok to break such a fundamental legal contract is deeply worrying.
