Yes, genuinely. I'm not a lawyer or a legal expert but I have experience in the legislature and am good at reading bills and from my reading and my consulting with other trans leaders this rule is not as bad as this author is making it out to be.

Having read the actual rule: www.federalregister.gov/documents/20..., I think this article is irresponsible fear mongering. This will make it more difficult for trans people to enter the US through the diversity visa program. I don't believe there is a basis for any other conclusion she's drawn.

We've seen another morning of increased ICE activity with DHS helicopter out and about in Chicagoland.
Feds have taken people from Humboldt Park and Ravenswood. Vehicles also seen in Rogers Park. ICE watchers are asking north side neighbors to get outside and keep an eye on landscapers & laborers.
Cities in Vermont and Maine are experiencing some of the same tactics that ICE has been using across Minnesota since December, and facing lots of resistance.

The only reason it feels like that in Saint Paul/Minneapolis is because ICE agents are busy terrifying the Suburbs/Exurbs and places further afield more intensely.

Here in Kentucky, one of the orgs doing the most direct support for trans people is Kentucky Health Justice Network and they are fundraising right now! They provide money for hormones, grants for surgery, gender affirming items, and insurance navigation.

CBS obtained video of the DHS killing of an unarmed man in Texas that DHS concealed for nearly a year, which clearly contradicts claims that he violently rammed anyone. He is shot with his brake lights on, car not moving or barely moving. Another DHS crime.
