Seriously, though--nobody is attacking them and given that their operational posture is about as subtle as a fart in church, that's a testament to the high level of restraint being shown by the general public

These numbers might sound ridiculous, but you have to understand, ICE agents are very sensitive to loud noises, being photographed, and having their feelings hurt.

6/In the immediate aftermath of Pretti's murder, the BCA attempted and completely failed to secure the crime scene. This, maybe more than anything else, is the biggest failure of the state's response. Your officers have guns and body armor too. Start acting like it.

3/Anecdotally the State Patrol has been missing in action on our highways for weeks. I normally see one or two cruisers per day on my weekday commutes. I have seen *two* in the past four weeks, and both this week.

2/the director of Driver and Vehicle Services sent a letter to DHS on 12/23/25 advising them that their license plate shenanigans were illegal. It would well within the power of state and local law enforcement to impound illegally licensed vehicles but they have not, to my knowledge, even once.

1/Realistically, there is very little that MN's state leadership can do to prevent ICE from operating here. But there certainly ARE things that could be done and are not.

The fact that they're not is an indictment of leadership at the highest levels in this state.

Yes, they've been ramping up intimidating observers. Guns drawn, breaking out car windows. Several arrested from our area in the suburbs last week, all (I think) now released. Most with only citations. And no, we won't be ending the resistance.

And while you're at it, start impounding vehicles with illegally altered plates or no plates at all.

Yesterday, we watched the MN state patrol attack protesters at Whipple. Meanwhile I was driving my daughter home from a music lesson and had to avoid a confirmed ICE convoy racing up 252, weaving through traffic and on the shoulders with no emergency lights.

The only reason we know Ross's name is the vice president's attempt to garner sympathy for him gave the folks down at the Strib enough to connect the dots.
