Shame on @frankpallone.govpeeps.us and Josh Gottheimer. They seem to support the Israeli government’s attempts to annihilate the Palestinian people.

Where NJ's governor hopefuls stand on allowing cops to aid immigration agents • New Jersey Monitor Jack Ciattarelli (R) says if elected governor, he would ax the state's Immigrant Trust Act. It's unclear what Mikie Sherrill (D) would do.

We have got to pass the Immigrant Trust Act ...

Why is a candidate for NJ governor campaigning in Israel? Why is he posing and smiling with a wanted war criminal like Netanyahu? Definitely a bad take and a bad decision.

So, sure Josh, give them as many bombs they can't drop as you want. Only giving Israel weapons they can't use to murder Palestinians? Welcome to the resistance.
2nd: It's obviously bananas to find new, additional weapons to give to Israel during decades of ongoing crimes against humanity & genocide.

Context: So does this mean he's planning to bring just the apartheid to NJ or the genocide too? A rare tag b/c it's life & death: @mikiesherrill.bsky.social please don't do this. Your Jewish constituents don't support this man, this government, nor racial superiority plans & genocide.

Israel kills Al Jazeera journalists in targeted Gaza City airstrike - Committee to Protect Journalists New York, August 10, 2025—The Committee to Protect Journalists is appalled by Israel’s killing in Gaza on Sunday of five Al Jazeera staff — correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqeh and camer...

This Politico NJ piece ran just a day after Israel purposefully killed 5 journalists in a tent—something it doesn’t mention. Why frame opposition to genocide as a fringe “far left” view? Politico NJ’s take is out of touch & betrays journalistic colleagues in Gaza. cpj.org/2025/08/isra...

Zohran Mamdani scores 17-point lead with Jewish voters in NYC mayoral race Mamdani's support among Jewish voters comes after accusations from opponents and some community leaders that his criticism of Israel represents antisemitism.

Politico NJ calls bad-faith, anti-Muslim attacks on Mamdani “fair enough,” twisting his words & singling him out because he’s Muslim. Most Americans oppose Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Mamdani won the NYC Dem primary in a landslide & leads among Jewish voters.

He’s not white. (In case you hadn’t noticed)

He’s “foreign born.”

He’s Muslim, so he’ll impose Sharia law.

He's Muslim, so he's a terrorist.

He’s Muslim, so he’s anti-Semitic.

He’s Muslim, so he was involved in 9/11. (He was 9-years-old)

He’s Muslim, … (silence so your own worst Islamophobic fears have room to resonate and grow)."

Screenshot from piece: "He didn’t campaign on Palestine, because he was running for Mayor of New York City, not US Senate or President. But he’s Muslim and has an actual conscience (a rarity in political candidates); he was asked non-stop about Israel and anti-Semitism (which, yes, are two completely separate and distinct issues, no matter how much the propagandists try to convince you otherwise).

It was in those answers that his campaign accelerated into top gear. Yet it was precisely because they were not campaign answers that they resonated, they were deeply held, deeply informed personal values, that he refused to discard to benefit a candidacy.

His calls for equity and equality in representation and under law, yes, even in Israel, should have been Democratic Primary kryptonite. We have John Federman wearing an Israeli flag as a cape for f–ks sake. But in the end it worked.

It worked because it was about humanity, and humanity resonates in an era when we can pick up our phones and see the worst of humanity in an infinitely scrolling feed"

It's unfortunate that in trying to highlight how dangerous Republican policies and supporters are, Matt also felt the need to spread the propaganda against a generational candidate. Even more unfortunate that propaganda is being spread by both parties.

But why the false both siding? Zohran has responded to the false accusations of anti-Semitism, over & over, & he's responded well. He separates Jewish New Yorkers from Israel in a way that a majority of voters support. He notes intifada is the Arabic word chosen to talk about Jewish Ghetto Uprisings

Screenshot from newsletter: "Like with so many other contests, Republicans have been pressing Mikie Sherrill on whether she supports Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist they accuse of anti-semitism over his criticism of Israel, since he won the New York mayoral primary.

That’s fair enough. Mamdani has said he supported or refused to condemn some pretty controversial sentiments, like “globalize the intifada,” even if he’s lately been gently walking some of that back. And if Sherrill is going to be New Jersey’s governor and Mamdani the mayor of New York City, they’re going to have to deal with each other and policies that come from the furthest reaches of her party’s left flank.

Sherrill has been cagey about her support for Mamdani, giving mushy answers on whether she supports him. And big-name Democrats have done the same, uncomfortably avoiding formal endorsements."

Disappointing to see @mattfriedmannj.bsky.social helping spread racist disinformation about @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social in @politico.com

He attempts to call out that folks Republicans are actively campaigning with are disgusting racists, and are on the record behaving as such.

Thank you for sharing about this heartbreaking and brazen crime. 5 journalists were killed at once by Israel in a targeted attack. I hope we see more journalists and media outlets in the US speak out against the killing of their colleagues. This makes journalists across the world unsafe.

I stand with all those across the world who do not want another endless war. Netanyahu & Trump are warmongers. It is the people who suffer the illegal & irresponsible actions of authoritarian leaders. Only Congress has the power to declare war. We must act to protect our safety & shared humanity.

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.
