The Invaluable Glue Guys: My 2024-25 NEC All-Underrated Team With the end of the conference regular season here, now is the time to highlight the players who won’t necessarily get the recognition of an all-conference selection or an individual award. These p…

I wrote about the unsung players in the Northeast Conference, unveiling my NEC All-Underrated team. It's chock full of guys that defense and offer offensive value for various reasons.

Hello to my limited (but hopefully growing) BlueSky audience. I wrote about some talented #NECMBB rookies today! necovertime.wordpress.com/2023/12/06/t...

It's a brutal situation for the NEC. The "best" options are probably:
1) Get Chicago St or some other immediately eligible program (Rider?) to stay at the AQ starting in 24-25
2) A partial or full merge with the MEAC

Do nothing and the NEC is at 5 eligible teams in 24-25 putting them under the AQ

That's probably where Sacred Heart and Merrimack will end up, so it's not impossible for SFU to do that. But the additional travel cost would not be enticing.

They could theoretically jump, but then would need to house football somewhere. Geography at least fits as they were a travel partner with RMU in the NEC days

It’s not the craziest idea. While it stabilizes the NEC’s AQ for most, if not all, sports, most of those remaining teams are cash strapped and would have trouble justifying the added travel cost to play several times per season in the Midwest. Also hoops would have 18 (!) teams fighting for 1 bid.

Sacred Heart defeats Umass Lowell in a secret scrimmage and now I’m riding high for the remainder of this Saturday.

Don’t remind me that SHU beat Quinnipiac last year in October and because of injuries it wasn’t a banner season.

Trying to build up my following here on Blue Sky reminds me of 2012 when I had 29 followers on Twitter and was begging the Sacred Heart handle to retweet my blog post on why this was the year Dave Bike would break thru

Glenn Braica to Fairfield would honestly make my week. Hope Chris Casey can make it happen.

After Bobby V became the SHU AD a lot more people dreamed of doing that job I’m sure

So I googled Jared Grasso’s name as he instructed the officer to do and the first news story was β€œBryant basketball coach Jared Grasso arrest body cam footage released” πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

If I tweet about Northeast Conference hoops, and no one sees it, does it make a sound?
