Crazy to think the big quake was 15 years ago today (roughly 20 mins from now actually). Will never forget that day for the rest of my life
It's so goooood, @ravi64.com it's basically Zelda 1 meets twin-stick bullet hell lite
Wish load times were better on Switch 2 and the title is kinda silly/feels like someone's Roblox project but everything else is fantastic
like watching the got damn sistine chapel being painted
Gotta have your ID on you at all times just in case
I had a few of those (not Larry J Love editions tho)

Yeah just came out a week ago!
Hooked on Minishoot Adventures. Unfortunate generic title aside, it's a great Zelda 1-style action/adventure game that's been serving as a nice morning palate cleanser after evenings with RE9 (which is incredibly good BTW)
Yeah, still had mine open. It’s this guy (on a phone anyway):
Yeah 9 is kind of impossible… Maybe like, 25 would be more realistic 😅
I couldn’t possibly choose only 9, but at least these all A) definitely had a lasting influence and B) are just as good today as they were back then

Oh look it me
It’s Graeme who was talking about it - not on BS tho as far as I know…
100%. DQV is the game that got me to buy some Japanese dictionaries and start trying to figure this stuff out for myself and it spiraled into having lived out here for 25 years now 😱
I guess one small piece of Link art was changed, too
The map that came with Zelda in 1987 didn’t reach Japan until 1994. Never thought to compare them until today but other than the size and better image quality on game visuals, they’re very similar
Imagine making this logo and thinking it was suitable for a product. The 90s were a wild time
Miyamoto should've done more interviews in 1989 because this is like reading a wizard talk. This snippet distills why playing games in another language has always been so appealing to me. (And also reminds me why Tunic is such a masterpiece.)
Did the second quest as well, this time in English. Been a while and forgot where a couple dungeons were so re-finding them was pretty fun. Zelda II next?
Huh, Japanese one is 25 minutes.
What’s going on with this weird ghosting thing here - is it an emulation issue on NSO?
Nothing quite like the feeling of playing a brand new Resident Evil game for the first time
Digging the vibes on this one, probably more than any other in recent memory
Was thinking the same thing
So is Japanese RE9 censored again?
My Pokémons, let me show you them
(Happy 30th Pokémon!)
