Nothing like a small person at home with a fever to remind you that very very few things on your work list are ACTUALLY immovable objects. Amazing how meetings can move and deadlines can shift when they really need to.
Finally got far enough out of academic orbit at a party today that when I said “I work at UD” I was met with blank stares.
Are task forces usually fun? No. Are they usually productive? No. Do you learn about key administrative details and functions that you could not have learned in any other context? Frequently yes!
Shoutout to faculty who send thank you notes to staff like me for our work. Trust me when I say it’s the best part of my day to hear that the stuff I do actually helps people!
