I still say that social media, especially Twitter, is not real life.

The problem is that too many people in politics and journalism seem to think that it is.

I miss when even the slightest hint at corruption or a bigoted comment was enough for a politician to resign.

Now corruption has been so normalized that it only emboldens them. We desperately need to bring shame back.

Reminder that your social media accounts are your own.

Nobody is entitled to access to them nor do they get to dictate what you can and can't talk about.

As long as you’re not being a toxic or bigoted asshole deliberately spreading misinformation, you do you.

I'd love to see more indie animation as well, but these "fans" seem to think that broke animators can snap their fingers and the next Helluva Boss will suddenly appear.

And then they'll turn on them like a rabid hyena the second their show becomes popular.

Animation "fans" will keep screaming "go indie" at animators and creators, but then will harass, bully, and smear them and become the most toxic MFers on social media.

As much as I love Star Trek: The Next Generation, it took until season three to get really good.

It would have been cancelled before then if it came out in the streaming age. Same thing with The Simpsons, SpongeBob, and other long running shows.

Studios seem to fear long-form TV now.

Friendly advice - don't ever give any of your personal information to any sleazy AI company no matter what they promise you.

And this includes financial info, medical records, and family photos. Don't trust them.

The term "Orwellian" gets used so often, but I don't even think Orwell could have imagined the insane levels of propaganda, shameless hypocrisy, willingness to debase themselves, and lack of critical thinking that we're seeing now from the modern right.

Another reminder that just because you're not the target audience for something, that doesn't mean that thing is bad.

Go outside your comfort zone and watch more movies and TV, play more games.

Find joy in unexpected places.

Hot take? Turning global events (including war) and our entire lives into a cesspool of gambling is gross, corrupt, easily exploitable, and I would 100% support making this shit illegal.

This is a good time to support indie projects, devs, and animators.
 
And that includes still supporting them when their thing becomes popular instead of turning on them for clout.

Reminder that you're not a bad person if:

You have fun.
You set boundaries.
You need to take a break.
You don't talk about politics 24/7.
You take care of your mental health.

Anyone who tries to scold you for doing any of the above can piss all the way off.

I swear, nothing gets some people here madder than not being able to reply to a random stranger's semi-viral post.

Getting mad at people setting boundaries is frankly a red flag.

Bluesky could really use a Community Notes type of feature.

That's the one good change made to Twitter that Elon still hasn't found a way to ruin yet.
