The power of imperfection: Flawed AI images to spark design conversations
By Jose A. Guridi, Angel Hsing-Chi Hwang, Duarte Santo, Maria Goula, Cristobal Cheyre, Lee Humphreys, and Marco Rangel
How can image generative AI help design public spaces? @jaguridi.bsky.social et al. used AI as a boundary object and found that getting flawed rather than accurate AI images fostered richer conversations and engagement in participatory design. A new #CSCW2025 paper:

Excited and honored to be speaking this Thursday at the 5th Global Meeting on AI for Law Enforcement (globalmeeting-ai.com). I'll be discussing the paradoxes of AI regulation and the need for region-specific policies that balance risk with opportunity.
