I never know what to put here. I'm a computer programmer with occasional irregularity, a fondness for prog rock and good books, and a talent for annoying my wife. Physics and history, yay! Astrology and conspiracy theories, boo! I don't answer DMs.
That about sums it up, eh?

Looking around social media sites, it does feel that someone somewhere decided that thinking was no longer "cool".
Could have had this guy.

03.02.2025 23:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As I've said I'm not talking about the bigots. I'm talking about those who are not as informed as us, the people who love the ACA and hate "Obamacare" because they don't pay attention, they don't read the news, they don't know. If they regret their mistake, listen and help inform them. Recruit.
03.02.2025 21:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm arguing for bringing over people who admit they made a mistake. You not only want to alienate them, but you're coming after me, someone who probably agrees with you on almost every issue.
03.02.2025 20:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That's not the kind of person I'm talking about. A better comparison is August Landmesser, who joined the Nazi party in 1931 hoping it would lead to a job. He realized his mistake. This is believed to him five years later, refusing to salute Hitler. He was later imprisoned and died in 1944.
03.02.2025 19:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You're right. You telling me to fuck myself for having a different viewpoint has magically convinced me that you are indeed correct and the sort of person I want to associate with. Thank you for demonstrating the foolishness of my ways.
03.02.2025 19:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Absolutely not. Those aren't the people I'm talking about. I'm talking about people who were badly informed, realize they were wrong, and admit that they made a mistake. Alienating people is how you lose elections. I believe that informing people will lead many away from the Republicans.
03.02.2025 05:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Please understand I am not talking about the absolute crazies. Those are the 30% who would never express regret or admit a mistake in the first place.
