i'll be so honest though; there's a part of me that wants to write 2 versions of this, with the 2nd being nicky somehow convincing seth not to go out that night

someone asked nora once who would have died if seth had lived & i keep coming back to it, thinking about what might have happened👀

it's the morning of the Kathy Ferdinand interview - Allison went with the rest of the Foxes, but Nicky stayed behind (why? y'know…reasons)

seth wakes up to nicky spooning him and they have soft sappy morning sex

that night still happens like in the books and nicky does NOT handle the news well

allison gets him to open up to some stuff in the bedroom, which leads to him admitting some things about himself, and she encourages him to lean into it. that's where nicky comes into play. and then erik. and then just about every combination of those 4

seth comes back to PSU the summer after Riko's death and restarts his 5th year, but he's been working on his shit for 8 months in the residential treatment facility he was 'hiding' away at, so he's moderately more chill and better equipped to deal with his ✨numerous✨ issues

no working title yet, but i've been calling it the "seth fakes his death au" in my head

basic idea: Seth still ODs but he survives and the Foxes cook up a plan for them to make Riko (&the world) think he died so he doesn't try to kill seth again or retaliate by killing anyone else
