It is fun to be able to do some more #NLP things, and to tackle some surprisingly complex issues like extracting text blobs from academic articles with complex layouts and multi-column text fields.
At least they are complex for a geographer 😅
It's so great that almost every university is a cheerleader for AI, so we can also be complicit in wasting water that way.

The render version without the glossy magic. The buildings are a bit more run down, the trees and bushes are leafless, the picnic tables have been removed for the winter, the ground is wet and the sky is grey.
AntiRender is a fun tool to add a bit more reality into the highly polished and overtly positive architectural renders we see everywhere.

Ups and downs belong to #academia. Two funding applications out of three came back negative. Really frustrating.
I also applied for a new research position, and came up with a clever (IMO) research plan in a short time, so I am very happy with that.
