At that point Trump really has no choice but a land invasion.

Iran has 3 times the population of Iraq and four times the land area. Iran tolerated a 1,000,000 KIAs in the Iraq war. 50,000 KIAs in Vietnam drove the US out and the current population is less forgiving.
The Iranian goal right now is to bait the US into a land invasion.
The easiest way for them to do that is to announce publicly that, because they were a victim of a sneak attack by two nuclear powers that they will immediately cease the pause on the nuclear program and begin assembling bombs.

If I am reading this right the Oklahoma senate seat will remain empty until after the election. If this had happened before March 1 then the governor could appoint a temp.
